Landscape view of the Roman Forum seen from the south Side of the Coliseum; including the east side of Arch of Constantine, the east side of Arch of Titus, the Capitol, Meta Sudans, and the Temple of Venus & Rome. Grass with flowers is seen in the foreground, structure with bas-relief carving and roundel on the left, a column with statue on it is next to it. Remains of the Meta Sudan fountain are to the right foreground, beyond this more modern buildings and tower closely associated with ruins. The roadway leads to the Arch of Titus in the centre. A tower surrounded by trees and bushes, and houses, are seen along the skyline.
Part of the Ellis group of daguerreotypes.
