Eichmann gilt als ein Jünger des Malers und Schadow-Schülers Wilhelm Pero (1808-1868), der spätestens 1843 in Lübeck das erste daguerresche Atelier eröffnet hatte. Eichmann begann 1851 zu daguerreotypieren und hatte ab 1856 die Adresse „Johannisgasse 31“ inne. (J.V.)
