A reducing frame (with historic modifications) that goes into a plate holder. Its purpose was to hold smaller daguerreotype plates during exposure. Comprised of five parts, which are all removable to make three different sizes of daguerreotypes. Made from tropical hardwood with brass inserts. Copper and brass sliding closures and eight metal hook and eye closures.
