Three-quarter length portrait of a seated old man (Carl Johann von Seidlitz, 1798-1885) with grey hair and sideburns, looking to his right. He wears a dark jacket with buttons, dark waistcoat, white shirt, a cravat and dark trousers. He sits on an ornate upholstered sofa with carved armrest and he reclines his left arm against a sofa, while his right hand rests in his lap. He has got a ring on his finger. A curtain is behind to his left and a table with a plant on top of it is behind to his right.
