Daguerreobase

Today (March 14, 2012) we received an invitation of the European Commission to negotiate our Daguerreobase project proposal. 

Why and what happened before?

June 1, 2011 we = Fotomuseum Antwerp and Fotomuseum Rotterdam, submitted a project proposal in the European ICP program Call 5, to improve the current Daguerreobase structure and functionality and to connect the Daguerreobase with the Europeana portal and enrich the portal's content with over twenty thousand descriptions of European daguerreotypes. In July 2011, we received a very good quotation, but were not selected nor rejected. Until now we were waiting for a final rejection, a rejection that became an invitation!

If things are going well, we soon can initiate our project and build the European daguerreotype platform, communicating and interchanging information with the Europeana platform. http://www.europeana.eu/portal/
